I. Hungarian Iyengar Yoga Convention with Eyal Shifroni

The Hungarian Iyengar yoga Association is organizing the I. Hungarian Iyengar Yoga Convention between April 24-26, 2026.

We kindly invite you to our convention, which will be led by one of the greatest instructor of our community, Eyal Shifroni. We are really grateful for Eyal accepting our invitation. 

This is the first time Eyal is visiting Budapest, we truly hope that the location will be suitable to many of you in the surrounding countries.

The aim of the convention is to bring together the local and international Iyengar community within the framework of a three-day event. 

Alongside the practice, there will be inspirational talks, with space for reflection, dialogue and questions.

Over the weekend, you’ll have time to reconnect with yogi friends and the opportunity to form new friendships with like-minded souls from across the area.

The conference is not recommended for complete beginners, but we welcome anyone who has been practicing yoga according to the Iyengar method for at least six months.

Eyal Shifroni, Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher & Author

Born in 1954, his yoga journey began in 1978, and he has been teaching Iyengar Yoga since 1985. A transformative milestone was his first visit to Pune in 1988, where he studied directly under the guidance of Guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar. These immersive experiences continued regularly until 2018, enriching his practice and understanding of Iyengar Yoga. In 2009, he received a Senior Intermediate III certificate from Guruji.

As a Senior-Level teacher, he lead the „Iyengar Yoga Center of Zichron-Ya’akov” in Israel and conduct yoga workshops both in Israel and worldwide.

His passion for yoga has led to the authorship of nine books on the subject:

• „A Chair for Yoga,” 
• „Props for Yoga Vol. I, II, III, and IV” 
• „The Psychophysical Lab,” 
• „The Extended Chair for Yoga,” 
• “Yoga in Nature – Using Natural Props.” 
• “Ropes for Yoga – The Art of Yoga Kurunta” (forthcoming)

These books have been translated into multiple languages. He also regularly writes articles on yoga practice and philosophy. Notably, he has translated two of B.K.S. Iyengar’s books, „The Tree of Yoga” and „Light on Pranayama,” into Hebrew.

For many years he was an active member of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Israel, conducting teacher training courses and contributing to the certification process. Beyond yoga, I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technion (the Israeli Institute of Technology) and has taught Computer Science in colleges in Israel for many years.

In his workshops, he delves into the themes of his books to deepen the understanding of our practice using props and explore the intricate connections between the body and mind. 

I. Hungarian Iyengar Yoga Convention with Eyal Shifroni

Date: 24-26. April, 2026.

Place: V.30 Belvárosi Sportközpont, 1054 Budapest, Vadász street 30.

Required level of experience: min. 6 months of Iyengar yoga practice

Language: The convention will be held in English with Hungarian translation

Required props: Please bring with you: 1 yoga mat, 2 belts, 2 wooden bricks, 4-6 foam blocks for Sarvangasana

Full conference fee: 250 EUR / person
Early bird registration and payment by October 31, 2025: 200 EUR / person
Early bird registration and payment by January 15, 2026: 230 EUR / person

For active members of the Hungarian Iyengar Yoga Association:
Full conference fee: 230 EUR / person
Early bird registration and payment by October 31, 2025: 180 EUR / person
Early bird registration and payment by January 15, 2026: 210 EUR / person

Cancellation conditions:

In case of cancellation by January 15, 2026, the full amount will be refunded.
In case of cancellation between January 15, 2026 and March 15, 2026, 50% of the fee is refundable.
In case of cancellation after March 15, 2026, due to organizational reasons and obligations, we are unable to refund the paid fee.

Payment:

Please pay the conference fee in EUR to the Hungarian Iyengar Yoga Association’s Euro bank account. No cash payment is accepted.
